Kina provides production services to international and local film and documentary shoots. His wealth of experience helps make ambitious projects happen.

Kina's background as a marine professional and his experience on key local and international productions give him a unique range of problem-solving skills.

He is able to assemble teams and equipment, solve access and permit issues in any part of the country, and manage risk for complex operations. He specialises in:

  • logistics

  • comprehensive safety and risk management

  • obtaining permits and permissions

  • sourcing crew, equipment, safety gear and boats

  • on-the-ground operations

He has a vast network of connections throughout the country and offshore - from constructive locals to key officials.

On location, he manages teams, sub-contractors, safety plans, boat and diving operations. He is equally comfortable managing multiple locations for The Hobbit to a single-boat, offshore shoot for the BBC.

For marine productions, Kina has a 6m boat surveyed to work to 12 miles offshore anywhere in New Zealand, able to be towed around the country, and rigged to access the most challenging waters. His second boat provides further options. For productions requiring larger or live-aboard boats, Kina sources vessels to any specifications.
